Time to Work Together for Llandeilo – William Powell AM
William Powell, the Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Mid & West Wales today welcomed the news that Sainsbury's is withdrawing its Planning Application to build a superstore in Llandeilo.
He commented:
"Along with many people in Llandeilo, I have had concerns for some time about the development proposed by Sainsbury's and its potential impact on the Town. I was one of the first Assembly Members to press for the Application to be called-in by the Welsh Government.
There is now an opportunity for all parties involved to sit down and chart a way forward for the Town. There is no question that Llandeilo needs new investment. We now need to put the controversy of the Sainsbury's Application behind us and produce a clear plan for the future of the Town. This must involve an open and participative process involving local residents, the local business community and the County Council."
