In The Press
A lively press and media industry is important to us all. It makes sure that politicians are held to account. It also ensures that people are able to find out what decisions are being made by Government which might affect both them and the communities of which they are a part. It also gives an opportunity for constituents to find out what their elected representatives are doing on their behalf.
That's why I have been a strong supporter of our local papers across the Mid & West Region and the editors and journalist that do such a good job in sustaining the local press. They have to work in what is often a difficult and challenging commercial environment. So, I have always tried to help them in whatever way I can to publicise the issues and stories that are of concern to people across the Region.
