EVENT: Beyond the Economic Crisis in Europe. How to Achieve Growth and Employment

The European Movement and the Embassy of Denmark to the UK are organising an event to mark the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The event will look beyond the economic crisis in Europe and discuss ways to achieve growth and employment, a central theme of Denmark's presidency.

The Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, will give a keynote speech before discussing the issue of growth with a panel of senior academic and business representatives.

18.15 - 18.20: Welcome by HE Anne Hedensted Steffensen, Ambassador of Denmark to the UK and Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP, President of the European Movement

18.20 - 18.35: Keynote speech by Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury

18:35 - 19.30: Panel discussion with:

- Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury
- Professor Iain Begg, the European Institute, the London School of Economics
- David Caro, Vice President of the European Small Business Alliance (tbc)
