Hourly service on the Cambrian Line is a priority for the rural Welsh economy – William Powell AM

November 7, 2012 4:28 PM

William Powell, Welsh Liberal Democrat Rural Affairs Spokesperson, has today called on Carl Sargeant, Minister for Local Government and Communities, to prioritise the delivery of an hourly service on the Cambrian Line to boost the economy of Mid Wales.

William Powell, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales, said:

"The Cambrian Line provides an essential link across Mid Wales and over the border to Shrewsbury and beyond. Ensuring that this becomes an hourly service would provide a much needed boost to the economy of Mid Wales and must be addressed by the Welsh Government.

Today I called on the Minister for Local Government and Communities to commit to making the delivery of this much needed service a priority for his department and I will continue to fight for it until it is finally delivered."
