William Powell AM accepts petition on the proposed closure of Tenby Minor Injuries Unit

November 21, 2012 4:18 PM

William Powell, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales, has today accepted a petition signed by well over a thousand Pembrokeshire residents which calls for the future of Tenby Minor Injuries Unit to be guaranteed.

William Powell, Chair of the National Assembly for Wales' Petitions Committee, said:

"I am very pleased to accept this important petition. Hywel Dda's plan to reorganise health services on behalf of the Welsh Labour Government has clearly caused a lot of uncertainty and controversy across South-West Wales.

My Committee will be formally considering the petition over the coming weeks and will I be urging the Welsh Government and Hywel Dda to address the concerns of local residents, ensuring that rural Wales does not lose out because of their reforms."
